Join Miranda and a small group of 26 dedicated spiritual adventurers for an intimate and profoundly life-changing 8-day retreat in one of the most sacred and spiritually rich regions of India.
Mt Arunachala is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India and has become a mecca for non-dual exploration and the path of Self-Inquiry. Considered the sacred dwelling of Shiva in His aspect of fire, it was home to Sri Ramana Maharshi and many sadhus and spiritual giants past and present, and one of South India’s most ancient and important temples.
Within this extraordinary place that palpably reverberates a potent depth of Presence, Miranda will accompany you in opening to the Grace of this sacred place to support your awakening process, and journey together into the heart of Being.
This is the first retreat Miranda has led in Tiruvannamalai since 2009, so we expect places to fill up quickly.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR APPLICANTS
India is unlike anywhere in the world and the energetic impact of Tiruvannamalai is powerful. Therefore, places will only be offered to those who are –
- physically robust and fit enough to hike 35 minutes up and down a steep hill in heat on uneven, sometimes rocky terrain.
- able to sit still in meditation for at least 35 minutes
- already have a dedicated spiritual practice (sitting meditation especially)
- confident travellers (not easily spooked by wild animals, insects, dust, noise and poverty)
- self-reliant and emotionally flexible
- able to re-source themselves if overwhelmed
- happy to roll with the unexpected that is the wonder of Sacred India!
Priority for the 26 places available will be given to members of the Living Grace Global Sangha and those who have attended either in person or home retreats with Miranda over the last 2 years.
This retreat is limited to 26 people who are sincerely interested in the lineage of Sri Ramana Maharshi and also Miranda’s teachings on Grace and Ego Relaxation which were largely ignited here.
The retreat is a honed blend of structure and free space, silence and speaking, devotion, inquiry and meditation, with plentiful time each day for private relaxation and moving with India in your own way.
Each day begins with a 35 minute morning hike to meditate in Ramana’s two caves. There are also group sessions with Miranda each morning and evening.
Given the hot weather, afternoons are free time to relax by the pool, get a massage, have an optional private session with Miranda, or do your own thing.
You will be expected to arrive at your accommodation in time for an opening celebratory group meal on the evening of January 29th. The retreat will close with another celebratory group evening meal on February 5th. You will be expected to leave your accommodation after breakfast on February 6th unless you make other plans directly with the accommodation venue you select.
The retreat includes the following :
- Information meeting with Miranda via Zoom during October 2024.
- Detailed information for what to expect, what to pack, and how to plan etc.
- Accommodation options personally selected by Miranda.
- Daily mountain hike to meditate in Ramana Maharshi’s caves.
